A Library For All: Celebrating 80 Years
In 1944, Kitsap County residents made history by voting to create a county-wide library system, sparking a legacy of learning and community. By January 1, 1945, the Kitsap Rural County Library District was officially in operation, and ten years later, it adopted the name Kitsap Regional Library, becoming a vital resource for the entire county.
80 years later, we’re celebrating this remarkable milestone with a year-long journey through our shared story.
Celebrate 80 Years with Passport to Explore
Passport to Explore is here! Now through the end of the year, we invite you to pick up a passport, visit each library branch, uncover fascinating facts from our 80-year history, and dive into the unique stories that make each location special.
Once you receive all nine stamps, show your passport to a Kitsap Regional Library staff member to win a prize: a collection of nine illustrated note cards (pictured below), among other options.
At the end of the passport, complete additional side quests and receive a stamp and bookmark for each side quest accomplished.
In addition to passports, limited-edition library cards with a unique design for each branch are available! Pick up your favorite design at the front desk of that location.

Participating in Passport to Explore is Easy
1. Pick up a passport from your nearest branch! Passport to Explore runs through the end of the year while supplies last.
2. Visit all nine Kitsap Regional Library branches and get your book stamped at each location.
3. Show us your completed stamp collection and receive a prize while supplies last.
4. Don't forget to complete additional side quests at the end of the passport! Receive a stamp and bookmark for each side quest accomplished.
